Zoe Saldana

If you don’t know of Zoe Saldana yet, you should. I first became her fan when I saw her in the 2000 film Center Stage. Her role in that particular movie is, unfortunately, rather small; but as always Zoe’s presence on film can’t be missed. Since then I have fallen more in love with this talented women, who not only can fit any part you throw at her, but has a style that makes me teeter on the brink of envy.

"I don’t understand labels. I don’t need anybody to tell me I’m Latina or black or anything else. I’ve played characters that are written for Caucasian females, I just want to be given the same consideration as everybody else, and so far that has been happening. "

Zoe has since graduated to larger roles in films such as Avatar and Star Trek. You can see her in theaters now in the new movie The Losers, alongside Chris Evans.

  1. Great post! I'm glad you're back!

The quote you posted of hers is amazing. She is definitely talented. I still cant believe she played the lead female role in Avatar!

  2. Thanks! It is good to be back. I've been wanting to post about her for a while and finally thought of something!

I love that quote! It shows how real she is. :)

  3. Welcome back! (:

I first saw Zoe in Pirates of the Caribbean (I was so sad that her character didn't make it into any of the sequels) and then a year later in Haven. I wasn't crazy about Haven as a whole, but her performance stayed with me for a long time afterward. Her style is so flawless and inspiring, always. She also seems to radiate confidence in a very down-to-earth way. I love that about her.

    Such a lovely post!
