NYFW Designer: The Tempest

Under the Abaya
William Tempest A/W RTW 2010-2011
London Fashion Week
"Individuality gives people style and charisma and is
what keeps life fresh and interesting."

He's got the style, he's got the education (London College of Fashion) and he's got about the coolest name in the biz. William Tempest is a British designer who at the whopping age of 24 will be making his New York Fashion Week debut on September 16th. These are some snapshots from his Autumn/Winter Ready-to-Wear line at London Fashion Week, which was inspired by Islamic architecture and the legend of the Queen of Sheba’s journey to Israel. Fascinating stuff, right? I love the color palette and the shapes of these pieces. There's something of a detailed minimalism to it. William even has a collaboration with Disney under his list of accomplishments. One of the dresses in this collection was designed specifically for Anika Noni Rose to wear to the premiere of The Prince and the Frog!

William already has a large fan following including celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, but I'm sure that his name will be even more universally recognized after he shows New York City just what he's made of.

Are there any new designers you're looking forward to at Fashion Week? We'd love to know!

Also, if you're planning on tuning in to CBS.com for the Fashion's Night Out: The Show runway event tonight at 7/6c, be sure to follow us on Twitter. I'll be Tweeting my thoughts live and I'd love it if you'd all watch with me!
