William Tempest Spring 2011 RTW

Some of you may recall a post I did at the beginning of the month, NYFW Designer: The Tempest, about 24 year-old British designer William Tempest who would be making his New York Fashion Week debut with his Spring 2011 RTW collection. I truly enjoyed his fall collection so I was excited to see what he had to offer this spring - and he absolutely did not disappoint! I feel like I'm looking at statues of ancient goddesses come to life. There's such a frothy, romantic element in all that glorious chiffon, but he didn't make it cliche. He maintained a lot of his structural looks from the fall, but with a softer edge. Here are a few details from my favorite pieces:

I think my absolute favorite is the last one, the billowing dress with the soft chiffon skirt beneath. It's so artistic. I love to see fashion take on an artistic flair, it can be so exciting and really stimulates and inspires the viewer.

You can view more photos of the collection at WWD and Fashionologie. What do you think of William's designs?

I love these! If I was offered one piece from his collection I have no idea which one I'd choose!

You're right in saying some of the pieces are very Goddess-like. It was one of the first things I thought when I browsed through the photos. I also love the last dress as you do. How fun it'd be to wear!

Amazing post and thanks for sharing :)

Hmmm... I somehow missed his collection, so glad you posted this! I love the lines in his designs - flowing, very Grecian definitely. Also - I love your use of the word "frothy" to describe a clothing collection. That is just perfect!

I love this collection! :D My favorite one is the last one, with the structured skirt - beautiful. I love the colors he used the the flowy fabric. :) I love the draping - they're all flattering to a woman's body :)
