Friday Fame: Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst is one of my favorite fashion-forward celebrities. With a hipster style and preppy, girl-next-door beauty the Lula darling creates a look all her own. I'm always curious to see what she'll be wearing at different events and I never find any of her choices to be the least bit boring. After two years Kirsten is back on the screen starring opposite Ryan Gosling in the romantic thriller All Good Things and she's currently filming an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road alongside Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi and a slew of other stars. In celebration of her return, I thought it would be a wonderful time to feature her on Friday Fame.

One of my favorite things about Kirsten is the way she never adheres to just one particular look, trend or style. She plays around and makes things her own, which shows a spark of confidence and individuality. Plus, it's fun to never know for sure what look she'll go for.

Being a good friend and muse to Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Kirsten is very often seen at Rodarte shows, as well as wearing pieces from the line out and about at premieres and events. I love to see her wearing Rodarte because the Mulleavy sisters always seem to create bold, sometimes uniquely bohemian pieces and the way the style contrasts with Kirsten's traditional beauty is rather fascinating.

She can be romantic, sweet, edgy, bohemian, and I'm always inspired by the way she takes each style and molds it to her personality. Kirsten proves that you don't have to find a style that suits you, you can take elements you like and create your own style.

"But the real secret to total gorgeousness is to believe in yourself, have self-confidence, and try to be secure in your decisions and thoughts."

Aside from being involved in the fashion world outside of film, we can't forget that she starred in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette - perhaps the most stylish film of our generation? Not to mention that it's the film responsible for bringing most of us the Parisian macaron obsession. Her performances range from mainstream action heroines (the Spiderman films) to cult indie classics (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and delightful romantic comedies (Elizabethtown, Wimbledon). I think Kirsten's film choices are about as wonderfully diverse as her fashion choices!

What do you think of Kirsten's style on and off the screen?

She is so cute! I think the first movie I ever saw her in was Spiderman.

I adore her curls in the first few photos! They totally suit her!

I've always liked her style... as an actress I can usually take her or leave her (sometimes she wows me, sometimes I think she's awful).

Did you see this photoshoot she did for the Lul magazine that was edited by the rodarte ladies? Love it! http://www.fashionologie.com/Peek-FallWinter-2010-Issue-Lula-Magazine-Rodartes-Laura-Kate-Mulleavy-Guest-Edited-12390993?page=0%2C0%2C0
