New looks with the old

What I wore:

Cowl: Harvester Products
Ring: Forever 21
Tote: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Rampage
Lace Top: Target
Tank: Target
Cardigan: Thrifted (Grace Elements)
Jeans: Target
Slingbacks: Payless

As much as I like to do outfit posts wearing mostly new things I'm also not ashamed to post outfits where I'm wearing things you've seen a handful of times. The fact of the matter is, most of us like to wear pieces from our closet more than once. Am I right? If you love something I would say it deserves to be loved! Sure it would be nice to almost always wear an entire new outfit in each outfit post but I try to be positive and work with what I have and what I'm able to purchase. Accessories are always great items to invest in because they are the pieces that create new looks with the old!

You've seen most of this outfit before except for the cowl, tote bag and maybe the thrifted cardigan. The cowl is perfect and light enough to wear during the Spring. The yarn it's made of is very soft so you'll be itch-free! If you're interested in purchasing one for yourself or perhaps a friend you can find them here at Harvester Products. The tote bag I got back in December during Forever 21's Buy 1 Get 1 from any of their sale items. I love this tote because it has a pocket inside and a zipper pocket on the outside. Most of the tote bags I've seen are plain and simple and don't have any pockets! The thrifted cardigan is a little big but I like it because it makes it extra cozy! It was one of my favorite cardigans during the colder weather. It wasn't too cold out yesterday but it was rather windy so I decided to grab it on the way out.

Do you wear your favorite pieces often enough? Why or why not?

Love that you did this. It's more realistic.

I have this light pink cardigan from the Gap I bought years ago and I wear it all the time. Inside or outside, I love it! It's not too heavy, but gives me enough warmth.

Cute outfit! I wear a pink knitted sweater a lot since it is so comfortable and compliments my skin tone. Though now it's getting warmer. I usually wear my dresses a lot during the summer.

This is such a great post, Jen; thank you for being so honest about it. I think it's easy to feel like you have to constantly have new things for personal style posts and considering the sizable collection of celebrity bloggers out there who are constantly being given overwhelming amounts of complimentary products it's easy for one to feel even more intimidated. But that's not real, you know? The great thing about fashion blogging is that it's real people working with real fashion on a real budget. I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity and that means quality over quantity. I don't have much, but what I have will last me for more than just a season. It's only realistic that there's a back to every closet, an end to every wardrobe. I like to see people working with what they have and showing the different ways they re-wear pieces.

And I love your outfit. I don't actually remember seeing that lace top before in any of your posts!

This is awesome. I just posted an outfit where I'm wearing the Gap Pintuck Wideleg jeans yet AGAIN. But I can't help it!! I love them and the truth is I wear them a few times a week, so why not be honest about it?

Yahoo for faves!
