White Nail Polish by Essie | Style Through Her Eyes

I've seen countless people rock white nail polish lately and after receiving yet another $10 Kohl's Cash coupon (I seriously don't know how I get these in the mail all the time! Am I the only one?) I decided to check out the Essie nail polish display. There was a white shade called Blanc and I snatched it up! I'm not crazy about Essie or anything, I have a couple of their polishes and they are alright. One is a glitter which lasted a long time as most do and the other is a metallic shade. It's nice but I didn't expect it to wear off as fast as it did. I love all the colors Essie has to offer I just haven't had the best of luck with the ones I do have I guess. This white polish though opaque after two coats was somewhat streaky. I didn't like the application process and quite honestly, I made a mess. You would've thought I never painted my nails before! But besides that I am happy with how they look and they are wearing really good even after day five. The ends are a bit distressed looking from work but that's to be expected. They appeared so bright to me at first that they startled me several times, but I think it's a really cute look! Even my husband told me twice in one day "I really like your nails.".

Have you or would you paint your nails all white? Which polish would be your preference?

Investment Chic

Maybe it's the return of 90's minimalism, but these days it seems like the word on the street is all about getting back to the basics. Investing in the classics, returning to classically understated style and timeless beauty. Of course we all have to update this notion of "classic" to fit into our world today, which is why identifying what that means is a never-ending conversation. This week's links will give you some inspiration to that "classic" look that's just right for you.

I actually own a lot of Essie polishes. haha. I definitely agree that it can be hit/miss. But, I've also purchased more expensive brands and they tend to chip on me (no matter how I apply them!) more than the non-expensive brands. I think OPI has great polishes overall but, Essie is so easy to purchase at the drug store. haha.

I like the white polish trend! It's pretty fun and refreshing. But, if it's not applied "perfectly" then it does not look as chic as it probably should. I have not tried the Essie brand for white polish though. =)

Looks great! I think white nails can be so fresh and cool looking! I've never tried it myself cause I'm just the worst with applying opaque nail polish. It inevitably streaks on me and I just want to give up. I tend to prefer shimmer polishes cause they're a little more foolproof.

I know white nail polish is super cool and so 60s mod. There is kit I want to get from Nails Inc that has 12 shades in it and one of them is white.

I actually only own a black polish from Essie and I don't remember the last time I used it! That being said, I am intrigued by the white polish trend. I am going to get my nails down this week--- so maybe I will go for that look….
