How To Unwind From A Day At Work

I know what it's like to have either a long and boring or long and wonderful day at work and to come home and feel tired and just "done". These are a few things that I do after walking through my front door to help me unwind and relax my body and mind in preparation for bed.

Changing your clothes will break the connection your brain might still have of being in work mode. You're now in a different setting which calls for different clothes. Preferably pajamas. There's nothing better than being comfortable! Depending on how I am feeling I'll remove my make-up and wash my face at this time or wait until right before bed.

I try not to eat very close to bed time (sometimes if I'm starving I'll have a little snack) so that is why I opt for tea. My current choice is green lemon, which is so much more tasty than just plain green tea. Drinking this is relaxing and the antioxidants are great for your body. Make sure it's decaf too!

After being gone for hours I can't wait to sit on the couch with my laptop and kick my feet up on our ottoman. During this time I like to see what's new via social media and also respond to any messages I might have. Obviously, Pinterest and YouTube are also common activities. This last step can be replaced with some devotional time or book reading, writing in a journal, listening to music or watching the latest episode from your favorite TV show. Just make sure to limit this down time because you want to make sure you have a restful night's sleep for the next day ahead!

What do you do to unwind for the night?

Unwinding is a great way to shake off the stress of the day. I like to practice yoga and take mineral baths with essential oils to unwind. Pinterest is another one :)

These are great steps. I pretty much do the same thing as you. I always change into comfy clothes as soon as I get home. After dinner, I will wash my face or take a shower. Then I relax with a book, checking things out online, or by watching a favorite tv show. Plus my adorable cat is usually nearby.

Yep, shower, change of clothes watch some silly reality TV involving fashion and the like, read, then hit the hay and occasional glass of wine.

i have to completely shut everything off a good 30 min before i go to bed.

Yes, unwinding after a long day for me is essential. Not so much boring days but when it's a long week/day I like to change my clothes and even watching comedy shows helps. I'm obsessed with Netflix now, so that's my goto + obvious tea or reading a book.

I like to catch up on my fave tv shows and then write in my journal with some music playing. Sometimes I hop online too to see what you people are up to :)

HA! Your unwinding sounds a lot like my work day (because I work from home and in social media!)…. that being said, for me unwinding usually involves a great book.

Yep, first thing I do is put on my pjs! And then I watch tv and do computer stuff (even though I'm on the computer all day for work too)

This is for sure! What I love to do is get comfortable, workout, eat and watch DVR. I want to unwind right now, lol.
