NYFW: Badgley Mischka Spring 2015 RTW | Style Through Her Eyes

Badgley Mischka's collection was like a breath of fresh air for me. I have been unimpressed with many of the spring fashion that has debuted on the runways. One of the reasons for my frustration is the fact that some of the designers seem to be heavily influenced by menswear. Tees, flowy blouses and boyfriend jeans have a naturally loose fit that look good on a lot of women. But overly baggy tops and bottoms have made it's way into many of the collections this time around. Why is the world telling us to dress more like men? They're obviously confused. On a better note, the Badgley Mischka collection is a wonderful mix of modern simplicity and elegance. I love the soft neutral colors and how many of the pieces are actually wearable. There are also several lovely dresses with such unique floral designs. The white and lilac number is my favorite dress from the collection. Aren't the cascading petals such a great feature?

Which collections have you seen and admired? Please inform me :)

A breath of fresh air is the perfect description for this ethereal collection! This was a standout for me as well. I also loved Monique Lhuillier's absolutely dreamy gowns.

Haha I sort of like the non body con trend. But too much of a good thing can be just that, too much. That second is crazy cool!

Wow, the powder blue structured/fitted dress is my style. The second image is stunning too. I would wear them both, haha. :)

These are beautiful! I haven't seen any of the collections, really (I've fallen so out of the loop). I did see a bit of Oscar de la Renta, though, and I thought it was quite charming.

I think at NYFW they tend to really enjoy taking that baggy, slouchy look to an extreme. Seeing how designers want increasingly thin models, I wonder if there's something about the juxtaposition of that over-the-top bagginess on the rigid shape of the models that they like? I'm not very fond of it, either, and as for men's-style trend, I love the way Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich used to wear it, but I've never been able to pull it off!
