It's OK To Be Afraid | Style Through Her Eyes

I've recently been thinking about fears and how we're constantly told by everything and everyone that we have to face them. If YOU want to face your fear, than do it. But if YOU'RE not comfortable or not ready yet, don't. It's as simple as that. I believe we need to be told that it's OK to be afraid. Fear doesn't make us weak, it makes us human. It's just part of what makes us all so unique. If we are pressured into facing our fears it could be extremely stressful and we may be forcing our minds and bodies to do something that we are not yet ready for. Overcoming fears will be a different process for everyone. Some of us may need to take baby steps while others might only need to do it once. We also should be more supportive and sensitive towards each other about our fears. By constantly bringing it up or trying to pressure someone into facing it, you will only aggravate them and make them feel isolated. You can be helpful by listening and encouraging them when the time is right.

At the same time, it's not healthy to be controlled by your fears and if it has reached that point than I would absolutely encourage you to work towards freeing yourself from the hold it has on you. God says in Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Philippians 4:13 also says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! If there is something in your life that is holding you back, you can absolutely conquer it!

Everyone is afraid of something so don't ever feel like you're the only one or that something is wrong with you. You're perfect just the way you are!
