Disney Days: Christmas at the Parks

Disney Days: Christmas At the Parks | Style Through Her Eyes

Going to both Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure is always a magical experience but something about Christmas time makes it all the more special! There's always new and tasty treats to try out, gorgeous decorations everywhere you look and some attractions that get an extra special touch to celebrate the Holiday season. Some members of my family and I went at the end of November and enjoyed ourselves immensely!

With so many new foods to try we printed out cheat sheets from The Disney Food Blog to bring with us. It can honestly be overwhelming especially with The Festival of Holidays which takes place at Disneyland California Adventure from November 9th to January 8th. If you're not familiar with this event they have several carts set up all showcasing different American, Californian and Mexican Cuisine food and drinks!

My sister and I tried the chocolate churro that has chocolate drizzle and bits of crushed pretzels and peppermint layered on top. If you're a salty and sweet kind of person I think you'll enjoy this! You can find this particular churro cart in Adventureland near Big Thunder Mountain. It was absolutely delicious but I was disappointed in the fact that the pretzels and peppermint pieces were only on half of the churro. Why not cover the entire thing?

The enormous Christmas Tree on Main Street is always a delight to see! Everyone stops to take photos and admire the large baubles and other decorations. It's especially fun to be there for the official lighting of the day which usually takes place just before the sun sets. Even more popular than the tree, of course, is the castle. It's decked in snow, icicles, and wreaths and when it's lit up it's THE most beautiful sight at Disneyland!

This year's collectible Popcorn bucket features a festive Alien from Toy Story. His mouth opens to hold your popcorn or other treats and comes with an adorable printed lanyard for easy carrying. I couldn't stop thinking of this little guy and had to have him! It costs $20 (and comes with popcorn) and can be found at the cart across from the Star Trader in Tomorrowland. My sister claimed the popcorn which I was fine with. I just wanted the Alien!

While I was taking pictures with my family I noticed a Mickey balloon floating about. No one claimed it for the fifteen minutes we stopped so I took it upon myself to give it a home. I think it's safe to say that I looked like your typical tourist while wearing my Disney Spirit Jersey, a backpack decorated with Disney and Star Wars pins, and an Alien popcorn bucket around my neck while holding a Mickey balloon. I don't think anyone would ever guess I am an annual passholder! We just laughed about it. Also, these balloons last forever! I had mine for a good few weeks before it began to deflate.

It's a Small World is one of those attractions that undergoes that special Holiday touch that I mentioned earlier. It's truly remarkable just how much they decorate the ENTIRE ride to make you feel like you're in a Christmas wonderland. There's so much to look at! Plus, there's a beautiful light projection show every thirty minutes throughout the night that you can watch after or before you've been on the ride.

One of the new meals I HAD to try at Disneyland California Adventure was the Chicken Pot Pie Soup from
Pacific Wharf Café
. For $11.49 you get oven-roasted turkey breast in a rich turkey gravy with peas and carrots, served in a sourdough bread bowl. It's honestly so amazing that I wish it was something they would carry year-round. My sister opted for the Snowman-shaped Sourdough Bread for $8.49. He was almost too cute to eat!!

Of course, we did go on some other attractions as well but I'll let you guess which ones based on the two photos above. Have you been to the parks during the Holidays? Let me know if you've tried any of these treats I mentioned and if you have any others you'd suggest!
