I'm at Disneyland at least once a month and I'm always forgetting to take pictures for an outfit post. There are so many great spots and unique props to work with there! Although I am wearing pieces you've recently seen I decided to share these two anyways 'cause they were too fun not to. My mom took them with her Iphone. Which, by the way, I kind of need one (actually, an iTouch would be just fine). They take high quality photos and you're able to edit them in minutes right then and there! Getting back on track, the first photo was taken while we did a little shopping. I didn't purchase the hat but it made for a perfect photo moment. The last one was my mom's idea. She says I look like a little bug, which didn't thrill me too much (lol).

Fashion Finds: Summer Scarves

Scarves are one of my absolute favorite accessories. I love that they can be worn throughout each season and I'm here to show you some cooler options for Summer, which is literally right around the corner! Thin and lighter colored scarves are obviously the best way to go and are often great for helping keep your neck cool and protecting you from the sun.

The first scarf I found is a hot pink chiffon number with blocky orange outlines from Anthropologie. It's on sale for $19.95. The bright colors are perfect for the season and chiffon is as light as you can get. A scarf like this one is definitely a good choice!

The second one is a beautiful beaded scarf from Zara for $19.90. This would absolutely keep you from feeling any warmer as it's entirely made out of beads. It could also easily be styled with a dressier outfit!

This next scarf is from H&M. Floral is still highly sought after and this particular scarf would look great with a basic top. The breezy colors are gorgeous aren't they? You can't go wrong with an option like this especially at $6.95.

Lastly, I found this great floral and polka dot scarf for $9.50 at Charlotte Russe. I've been seeing these popular prints mixed together lately and I love it! I'd recommend an infinity scarf like this one for a cooler Summer night, perhaps at the beach.

Vlog: What's in my bag?

I've shared a little "thank you" video that was less than a minute long on SHE's two year blogiversary but I wouldn't consider it my first vlog. This one here is about seven minutes and I even edited it with Windows Movie Maker (a program I've never used before, so don't be too hard on me!). I'm aware that it's no where near professional and I act quite silly throughout most of the video but it was fun doing it and I hope you all enjoy getting to see whats in my bag. I do have to say that my cell phone and planner are usually inside but I was using both prior to the video. Most days you can also find a water bottle, snack and maybe even a light cardigan inside too.

Sally Hansen: Nail Polish Strips

I recently won the zebra print set of the infamous Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips from my friend Melanie of Those Things She Said. Don't they look pretty? I don't think I've ever had this design on my nails before! They were real easy to put on but it still took some time to complete both hands. The aftermath of the trimming is my only complaint. I find that where I trimmed off the excess strips are a bit rough and I'm afraid they might catch on to things. I could file them more but I don't want to cause the strips to peel away (which a couple of them already started to do, though it is unnoticeable.). The box says the strips last up to 10 days, so we'll see! Overall I think it's a fun invention and I love that it comes with everything needed to prep your nail and apply the strips! I treated my mom to The Avengers this afternoon as an early Mother's Day gift. We both really enjoyed it! There's just something about seeing some of our favorite super heroes on screen interacting and fighting together! I'm more of a Batman fan but I also really enjoy these characters. The Hulk is the best there's been yet however I'm not sure who my favorite is from this film (that sounds like me, no?). If you're interested in it, I would recommend seeing each of the super hero's individual stories in their own movies so it makes more sense. Oh, and be sure to stay after the credits! Many people missed out on the extra scenes!

It was quite warm out today which meant wearing something light and comfortable including my dearest Sanuk sandals. Have you heard of them? They're super comfortable and this pair in particular is partially made out of yoga mat! I'm always wearing these at work!

Blue-ish Bracelets

I haven't had time to take outfit photos this week but I didn't let that stop me from sharing with you some new arm candy. I had noticed this darling set of bracelets at my store before but never purchased them. I guess it was meant to be because I found them almost two weeks ago marked down for $4.99. What a steal! They're super cute and so easily stackable. I love accessories and have been especially obsessing over bracelets lately. I think an inspirational post of lots of bracelets might be in order soon.

Fashion Finds: 3 Things

I recently created a board on Pinterest to keep track of the items I'm interested in or just plain need. I'm sure the list will grow as I continue to find treasures while online shopping but for now these are the few items currently featured.

1) I love cat eye sunglasses, especially when their shape is over dramatic like this pair from 80's Purple. I'm not sure I'll order them as I tend to like trying most things on before buying them, but at least they'll remind me to find a pair!

2) This necklace from Zara screams my name. I wonder if it looks just as amazing on?

3) I love that you can find colors from previous collections of Essie on Amazon. Sometime I'm going to get around to ordering "Shine of the Times". It's such an enchanting shade!

Those Graphic Tee Days

There are days when I feel like wearing graphic tees (or sweatshirts in this case) like this one my brother bought me for Christmas. I've noticed some super cute Disney tops at Forever 21 in the past few months and this was one of them. It's super soft and warm and I love the vintage feel of the artwork. Maybe I'll be brave and share more of my graphic tees in future posts. It's definitely not a side of me I'm used to sharing but these shirts are great for places like Disneyland, the movie theatre, or just to lounge around and feel comfortable in. I wore this particular sweatshirt to run errands and I added a black lace bow to complete my whimsical-ness. As if I already didn't look young enough!

One day last week Cotton On became my hero (yet again) when I found this black chiffon blouse I've been on the hunt for. I'm usually drawn to pieces like these and I already love how many ways I'm going to be able to style it! It can be worn the way I'm wearing it above or tucked inside a high-waisted skirt. Since it's so light and flowy it will be perfect for the upcoming warmer weather and I can just as easily layer it with cardigans or blazers.

The necklace was an Easter gift from my mom. I used to sell Cookie Lee jewelry for a couple of years but haven't seen any of their recent catalogs. It definitely makes a statement with it's unique layered pieces. The bracelet is also Cookie Lee and one I've had for years.

Do You Coral?

Coral. One of the new and exciting colors to wear this season and next. Maybe you love it but aren't sure how to begin to incorporate it into your wardrobe. You can always do the simple thing and take baby steps starting with just "a little". I gathered a few items together as you can see above to help get you started. Coral works with a lot of familiar and basic colors too. Try a pair of coral skinny jeans and perhaps a white or black top, or if you're feeling more shy, jewelry is also a good way to go too. You can wear smaller coral accessories with most anything!

Glittery

I've been sick since Friday and although I'm not 100% just yet, today I am feeling much better. In the midst of catching up with things like laundry I decided to take a break and make myself feel even better by prettying up my nails. I've had this pink Wet 'n' Wild color and chunky glitter since I was in Highschool. Don't worry, I've thrown out most of my nail polish from this time in my life but these two are still going strong! I love glittery nails, especially when the pieces are shaped like sprinkles!

For as long as I can remember I've had multiple boyfriend tanks in my closet. They are perfect for layering and can easily be dressed up. It wasn't until the day before Easter that I had an outfit planned out (very unlike me). I started with this beautiful pink colored tank from American Eagle Outfitters and was able to add piece after piece to create an acceptable Easter outfit. Everything else you've seen before except for the bracelet which was recently given to me by my Grandma when she came down for a visit. I love the way it sparkles and shines in the sunlight.

Yummies: Chicken Salad

What We Ate:

Cut-up chicken breast with no preservatives or added hormones, organic grape tomatoes, baby spinach, fat free seasoned croutons and creamy cilantro dressing with no preservatives.

Last June I talked a little bit about a different way of Feeling Beautiful by living a healthy lifestyle. After doing some walking and running with Jason tonight I was in the middle of making this yummy salad and asked him to bring me my camera. I hadn't planned to share this with you but I thought it'd be something fun and different to do here on SHE. Afterall, this is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog.

Everything except for the croutons (which I found at Wal-Mart) come from Fresh and Easy. I love their food and their prices!

Jason and I both enjoy eating out from time to time and of course making a quick stop for a donut or two every once and a while, but making smart food choices is important to us. Is it easy? Not all the time. Do we eat three healthy meals plus snacks every day? No. We're not perfect but we do our best to make wise food choices. We are what we eat afterall.

Do you struggle with making bad food choices? Don't worry, being aware of it is a good thing! Start writing down what you eat each day and look back on it to reflect on what you could begin to substitute with that pastry you eat regularly for breakfast or those potato chips on your lunch break. Get yourself motivated!

iSeries Ionic Ceramic Hair Dryer

When my hair dryer went out I knew I couldn't afford to get anything fancy. So, I went to ULTA. Not only do they have great prices but I also had points that could be used towards the purchase on my rewards card and a coupon!

An associate there told me Conair was a good brand that had affordable hair dryers. I was sure I had one before so those are the ones I decided to look at. I ended up purchasing the ISeries Ionic Ceramic Hair Dryer. Two of my favorite features are the folding handle for easier storage and retractable cord. It has 3 heat and 2 speed settings, a removable fliter, and it also comes with a concentrator and a diffuser. Plus, it's hot pink and black so I really couldn't go wrong. It's been working wonderfully (and seems to help more with frizz-control than my previous hair dyer) and my husband likes it too! Our only complaint was that the two pieces that made up the diffuser didn't stay together. It seemed like it was missing screws to hold it in place but we fixed that with no problem at all.

If you've seen the TV show Once Upon A Time you probably know why I decided to portray an unfamiliar dark version of Little Red Riding Hood. Of course, I won't give anything away so you'll just have to watch and see for yourself. If you love fairy tale characters, a good story, and twists and turns like that of LOST, I'm sure you'll love this show. It's definitely one of my all time favorites.

Many of these pieces you've seen before. I just re-worked them in different ways to create a new look. However, these tights you have not seen. I was on the hunt for more of a lacey print but I stumbled upon something a bit more grand. They have a very unique stitch (is that what you would even call it?). Thank you Nordstrom! The scarf was a gift from my mom of Harvester Products. The red cardigan worked perfectly as Red's coat, and while the rest of my outfit consisted of mostly black I knew I had to have something that popped. Something that would complete the look and make sense at the same time. An important part of her story was told during the Winter season while it was snowing. I knew at once this was the perfect scarf to represent the cold weather.

So, what do you think? Would you have known who I was without me telling you? Have you ever put together an outfit after a favorite character? Major props to my husband who knew right when he got home from work! We both had a lot of fun shooting these photos! You just may be seeing more outfits based off of different characters in the future...

Golden Eyes

I've been the proud owner of the Naked Palette since January. I use it every single day and that alone makes it worth the $50. Normally each individual Urban Decay eyeshadow is $17 each. In this palette you receive twelve eyeshadows. So, if you purchased each one separately you'd be spending $204! And that's without the lovely brush it comes with and the travel size Primer Potion. It's quite a steal!

I don't feel like any of the three photos I took do the palette justice at all but at least you can get an idea of what the colors look like. I used both "Virgin" and "Naked" together to create a base. For the outer part of the eye I used "Smog" with "Half Baked" on top. Lastly, I used "Sin" as my highlighter for the brow bone and the inner corners of my eyes. You can't really see all the details in the shot of my eye but I promise you it's a very glowy, golden look! There are endless possibilities with this palette and I hope to share more variations with you in the future!

Playing Dress-up

Walking around the house in fancy dresses, heels and even shawls and aprons while creating my own story as a Disney Princess or another favorite childhood character was one of my favorite things to do. TV shows like I Love Lucy or Little House on the Prairie and one of my favorite movies, Little Women, greatly inspired my dress-up time. Even though I never wore any of it out of the house it definitely had a part in molding my style and fashion sense I have today. I'm sure the Princesses had a great impact on my love of feminine detailing. I also wouldn't be surprised if characters like Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty or Princess Leia from Star Wars are part of the reason I love pieces that make a statement.

When I found this quote I realized many of us still play dress-up. We mix and match before we create an outfit we feel good in and we walk out feeling like royalty or the heroine who could take on anything that got in our way.

I remember wearing the smaller ear cuffs that looked similiar to toe rings when I was a teenager. Now it seems they've made a comeback and there are a myriad of different styles to choose from. Some are small, some large and dangly and there are some that connect to your earring. So whether you have pierced ears or not these are a fun accessory for everyone to enjoy.

Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler

This has been my favorite eyelash curler for years. It's durable and gives my lashes the dramatic curl I desire. Some beauty gurus tend to use their curlers for a few seconds but I've always liked to use it for about 20 seconds, sometimes more. I wasn't kidding about the drama. This will also help to ensure your lashes will stay put throughout the day!

For $15 you'll receive the curler, an extra silicone pad and a deluxe sample of Tarte's best-selling Lights, Camera, Lashes! natural mascara. The silicone pad is easy to clean with water and mild soap and it's recommended that you replace it with the extra pad after 3 months which would mean buying a new one after 6 months. However, if you clean them often this curler will last you about a year. Just be sure to pay attention to the silicone pad, I've never had this happen but if it splits you definitely want to buy a new one.

The bonus mascara is a nice one but it's not waterproof which is a big deal to me. It's definitely nice to have for emergencies though and you could always add an eyelash primer before using it.

This is my lovely little collection of sunglasses. There aren't any big designer pieces in this group but one day there might be. Afterall, I came really close to purchasing some great shades (Fendi and House of Harlow to be exact) at Marshalls one time. But we won't talk about that because it was a sad day with nothing brought home. Anyhow, these sunglasses have done their job and have lasted me a long time and were all under $15. You can't really beat that!

When shopping for sunglasses you want to make sure they fit you right and feel comfortable. Don't buy a pair when you know they're not going to work but love how cute there are, especially if they are a designer brand. If headaches or large red marks on your nose come with the price, it's not worth it.

You also want to make sure you have a good case to protect them from any scratches from sharp objects they may be exposed to in your purse. Your case may get damaged but it's a good thing! Those imperfections might have been on your sunnies rather than it's protector!

Cleaning your sunglasses with a good cleaning wipe is always a good idea. Using your shirt or random soft blanket won't do the trick forever. I picked these up at Wal-Mart. It comes with 50 cleaning wipes that are all individually packaged. One wipe easily cleaned all my sunglasses. I also use it for my prescription glasses and laptop.

Lastly, you want to have a good place to keep your sunglasses. I love Casee's idea on a post she wrote here on the blog back in May. I'm still in the process of figuring out how I want to display mine so that's why I don't have a picture. But I promise to post one once I've made up my mind!

The New Cut

After seriously messing my bangs up trying to cut them myself, I scheduled a hair appointment with Ulta. Because they were completely booked the day of, they couldn't get me in until the next day but the receptionist who booked my appointment was so kind and helpful with offering me advice on how to get through the day at work with dreadful bangs. I ended up wearing a hat which did the trick. I couldn't have been more pleased with their service and will definitely be going back. My stylist cut a few inches from my hair while giving me lots of natural looking layers, and of course she worked her magic to fix my bangs (she used a razor to thin my bangs out, a tool I never knew existed!). You can't see it in these photos but I now have a lot of shorter strands on the sides of my face which look super cute when my hair is pulled half back or up in a ponytail. You'll see photos of that look sometime ;)

I purchased this top from the clearance rack at my store. This coral color is definitely one of my favorite Spring/Summer favorites and my necklace from Kohls happened to go perfectly with it. It's so comfortable and light enough to wear even in the warmer weather. Plus, how cute is the lace detailing on the back? Love!

Feeling Feathery

Because I haven't yet shared my new haircut you don't get to see very much of my face in this post. I'd much rather you focus on one of my newest accessories anyways. I've been eyeing the feather hair-clips for a few months now and finally decided to pick this one up from American Eagle Outfitters. This piece, to me, appeared more unique and better made than others I've come across. I especially love the soft colors and all the added details like the pieces of faux leather and striped and polka dotted feathers.

I like to take a section of my hair from the side and lift it up to place the clip underneath. That way, you don't have to walk around with an odd silver clip on the side of your head. Doing this will also make it look more blended with your hair and like it's coming from the roots.

Little Time

Work and vehicle trouble has left me little time to blog, take any photos of new outfits or even my new haircut that I recently had done at Ulta. For now, those things will have to wait I suppose. I will, however, leave you with a few recent "life" photos that I have sitting here on my computer.

My sister and I posing in a tea cup at Disneyland about a month ago.

This is our Keurig, a gift Jason and I received for Christmas. It works absolutely amazing and I'm kind of obsessed with the little spinning carousel that holds our different flavors of coffee and hot chocolate.

Another fun Disneyland moment. I like how I'm wearing an "Alice in Wonderland" sweatshirt and a Mad Hatter Hat posing with a Stormtrooper. Ha!

Another Christmas gift Jason and I had fun with. I'm not one for puzzles but when it's Star Wars I usually agree to participate. Even if it's only for a few minutes.

Back in January as I was standing in line at my nearest Sephora, I noticed a chapstick I was unfamiliar with called Fresh Sugar. I thought $22.50 sounded quite pricey and decided to look into the product before I bought it. Little did I know I'd be walking out of the store with two miniature versions as a gift for my birthday just for being part of the Beauty Insider (their rewards program). Inside the box included the original treatment and a lovely tinted shade. They feel like silk on your lips and are definitely the softest chapsticks I have come across thus far. Here's how Sephora describes it:

In the photo above I am wearing Honey Tint, a lovely natural looking shade. I love being able to take care of my lips and have some color all in one! I also like using the original (colorless) treatment under lipstick as my lips tend to get chapped everyday. It really helps!
